How much radial shift occurs with Autostacker?

Does it lock only at full height? Are there other locking positions?

Autostacker comes with five auto-locking positions. The locks engage as the pantograph-style side beams slide quietly over the lock points in the steel base plates. This revolutionary auto-lock feature makes Autostacker the most versatile low-profile garage lift on the market. Without breaking the bank, you can lift vehicles to a height that works for you.

Does it harm Autostacker if I leave my vehicle on the lift for months or years at a time?

Autostacker lets you easily raise any vehicle up to 6,000 lbs. and leave it there indefinitely once it's safely parked in a locked position. This parking lift is perfect for storage in any situation, long or short-term.

What is the max allowable slope if I want to use Autostacker on an unlevel surface?

Shipping

What is Autostacker’s free shipping domestic freight policy?

Your Autostacker parking lift unit will be delivered free of charge. Additionally, all other items that qualify for free shipping will be delivered—freight prepaid—anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States. If you are receiving accessories or service parts, these items do not usually qualify for free shipping, and the buyer will be responsible for the shipping costs of each piece. Pricing will be based on package weight and destination.

AUTOSTACKER DOES NOT RECOGNIZE REQUESTS FOR C.O.D. SHIPMENTS. We will usually ship items under 150 lbs. via FedEx ground; however, some items will not be shipped via FedEx due to case-by-case alternations in the purchase order, package size and weight, and hazardous materials restrictions. Some items may also have additional hazardous-materials charges.

What is the Rural Area Transportation Zone (RATZ) surcharge?

In some cases, items that qualify for FREE SHIPPING will still be subject to a RATZ (Rural Area Transportation Zones) surcharge. This incidental charge relates to shipping addresses located in rural shipping destination zones, and rates are determined based on transport lanes, accessibility to highways, etc. These remote destinations tend to be non-direct shipping areas and have higher delivery costs. The Autostacker website keeps a listing of locations subject to RATZ shipping rates. While the vast majority of shipping destinations in the continental United States are not subject to this charge, we want to provide full transparency for our most rural customers.

What are accessorial charges and freight surcharges?

While most Autostacker domestic orders qualify for FREE SHIPPING, some freight services require substantial pick up, transport and/or delivery and are subject to additional accessorial charges. Certified Autostacker dealers will be responsible for paying these charges, which may incur when the dealer is first invoiced or after delivery. Please refer to our our list of accessorial delivery options that may apply to domestic orders.

Are there additional freight charges to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico?

Yes, there are additional freight charges for shipments outside the continental United States. Shipments to these domestic locations (Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico) may also qualify for other freight charges, such as expedited, guaranteed or definite deliveries. Your Autostacker dealer is your best contact for understanding which, if any, additional freight charges apply to your order.

What is Autostacker NOT responsible for?

Autostacker is not responsible for additional charges incurred by the buyer in the following cases:

  • The purchasing or renting of equipment necessary for the process of unloading any delivery.

  • Charges with regards to residential area restrictions on vehicle size and weight, as applicable. No fees will be assessed if the charges are prepaid prior to delivery.

What is a Bill of Lading?

Upon delivery, the consignee should inspect the product. A signed Bill of Lading is a legally binding acknowledgement that the package arrived in full and in good condition. If functional damage is apparent (as opposed to simply minor or aesthetic damage, such as scratches or small dents), consignee should not accept the package until the carrier notes the damage or shortage on the freight bill.

What if my freight is damaged?

All freight that leaves an Autostacker facility is thoroughly inspected, in perfect condition and professionally packaged for shipping. If damages occur during shipping, the customer will sign “damaged” on their freight bill and write detailed notes on the damage. Digital photos will strengthen the case for reimbursement/replacement and speed up the claim-failing process. Be sure to adhere to all instructional and warning labels on the exterior of the package before opening it.

We’ve repeated this several times, but it’s an important point that can lead to confusion, frustration and lingering hard feelings if not completely understood: Autostacker is not the freight company, nor do we handle any portion of the shipping process or logistics. As you are our valued customer, however, we will exercise all our authority to make your shipment safe, secure, and delivered in a timely manner; still, but once your packaged garage lift leaves our facility, responsibility for successful delivery and installation is consigned to you.

What should be done about concealed damage?

All consignees are responsible for notifying the carrier immediately if hidden loss or damage is recognized upon product delivery. Consignee should request the carrier perform an inspection within 48 hours of delivery. If this is not possible, compose a signed statement that the carrier has been notified yet failed to perform an inspection upon request. In this statement, note the carrier’s name, as well as the time and date of delivery.

If this is not handled correctly and promptly, it will be hard to collect for loss or damages—do not give the carrier a clear receipt if you suspect functional damages to your package. Your claim should be filed with the carrier, along with a cargo loss and damage claim form, multiple copies of the bill of lading, a product invoice, photographs and an inspection claim that is given to you be the carrier after the inspection is complete. Autostacker is more than happy to help you file your claim, but Autostacker is not liable for collecting claims or replacing lost or damaged materials that occurred during shipping and/or delivery.

What should I look for when inspecting my shipment?

Upon receiving your package, look for any type of damage that compromises the functionality and integrity of your lift. Broken, bent or otherwise misshapen parts should be filed as a damage claim.

Small dings, dents and scratches, paint rubs, etc. are not considered functional damage. Filing a claim for cosmetic/aesthetic issues will likely result in your claim being denied, and you will be responsible for the original delivery fee, in addition to the return shipping fee and any other outstanding associated costs, including delivery charges on a replacement item.

What will Autostacker do about missing or incorrect products and parts?

Autostacker will evaluate claims of missing, damaged or incorrect parts and decide how to proceed. This can be done at no charge to the buyer, provided all pertinent claims have been reported in a full and timely manner. Claims of this nature must be reported to Autostacker’s Customer Service Department within 30 days of date of receipt of order. If missing or incorrect products/parts are not reported within 30 days of the receipt of order, they will not be replaced.

Am I able to pick-up Autostacker from your warehouse?

Our customers have the option to decline FREE shipping and instead decide to "will-call" purchases at Autostacker’s facility in Santa Paula, CA or Mobile, AL. Will-call orders are subject to a 5% discount.

Are ground freight carriers responsible for unloading my delivery?

Freight carriers are not responsible for unloading shipments. The buyer/recipient must unload their freight once it arrives at the delivery location. Autostacker takes no responsibility for charges related to delivery, including rental equipment costs and fees incurred from procedural delays. Residential deliveries are subject to a fee for heavy equipment delivery and lift gate service. Please note that shipping and handling rates are subject to change at any time.

Can a "Call Ahead" delivery appointment be made?

Any authorized Autostacker dealer can contact your freight carrier 24 hours in advance of delivery to schedule your exact delivery time. There is a small charge in doing so, but this a popular service as it gets all parties on the same page and prevents delays and additional fees. You’ll need to provide the dealer with your phone number, so you can be reached at the time of delivery. Just know that due to the logistics involved, using a call-ahead service may delay delivery one to three days.

When first contacting the freight carrier, use that time to work out delivery arrangements. Customers are responsible for these arrangements, including any special needs or delivery instructions. Autostacker does not employ or otherwise manage/own the carrier company, its drivers or any affiliated equipment; likewise, Autostacker is not responsible for the successful delivery and unloading of your package. With this being said, we are more than happy to facilitate these connections for you and ensure you are informed about the finer details of the delivery process. It’s just important for you to know who to contact and what information to provide in the event of damaged or missing parts.

Does Autostacker ship outside the United States?

Yes, Autostacker ships globally. Please call 1-805-933-9970 for rates or email exports@bendpak.com.

Installation

Do the concrete requirements given by Autostacker meet national or regional seismic requirements as prescribed by Uniform Building Code (UBC) and/or International Building Code (IBC)?

Autostacker lifts are supplied with installation instructions and concrete fasteners meeting the criteria as prescribed by the American National Standard "Automotive Lifts - Safety Requirements for Construction, Testing, and Validation" ANSI/ALI ALCTV-2006. Lift buyers are responsible for any special regional structural and/or seismic anchoring requirements specified by any other agencies and/or codes such as the Uniform Building Code (UBC) and/or International Building Code (IBC).

Is parking lift installation included in the price of the Autostacker?

Unfortunately, we cannot include installation in the price of a lift. Alternatively, we have an extensive network of experienced contractors nationwide with whom we can connect you for courteous, professional installation. If you would like to inquire about lift installation, please contact our customer service department by calling 1-888-977-8225 or email us at sales@autostacker.com.

How much would it cost for a professional installer to install my new lift?

The price of a professional lift installation is dependent on any number of factors. Contact your dealer to determine which installer is best for you in terms of price and convenience.

The price estimate below is simply an attempt on our part to give you a sense of what a one-time installation fee might cost; however, the listed estimate does not consider accessorial charges, such as electrical, air, unloading or special handling. If you would like to inquire about lift installation, please contact our customer service department by calling 1-888-977-8225 or email us at sales@autostacker.com.

Does hydraulic fluid come with the lifts?

Due to current DOT and insurance laws regarding the transport of hydraulic oils (DOT Section 1 - Hazardous Ingredients; DOT Section 2 - Fire and Explosion Hazards and DOT Section 3 - Health Hazards), you are responsible for purchasing hydraulic fluid. Autostacker parking lifts are designed to operate using standard 10-weight, non-foaming, non-detergent hydraulic oil or Dexron-III ATF fluid. These easily obtainable products are sold in automotive stores across the country.

Do I need a special floor or foundation to support my new lift?

Autostacker is designed for the average homeowner’s garage; therefore, most residential or commercial concrete foundations will support Autostacker. Of course, it is imperative to follow all concrete specifications. Lift failure due to insufficient or faulty concrete can result in injury and death.

For safe installation, Autostacker recommends a completely level floor or installation surface. This will ensure proper lifting and safe usage for years to come. With proper shimming, small differences in floor slopes may be compensated for. If a floor is of considerable or questionable slope, consider hiring out for a survey of the site. If necessary, consider pouring a level concrete slab.

If your floor contains a post tension slab, contact the architect of your building before doing any sort of drilling or lift installation. A visual inspection should also be completed to ensure the concrete over which the lift will be installed is in good condition. A certified contractor should be contacted and informed of any cracks or defects in the concrete before installing Autostacker in your garage.

Parking lift owners and end users are responsible for the safe installation of their lift. The figures below represent suggested concrete specifications but should not be construed as actual requirements for your building, facility or application. Because local and statewide building codes may change and/or vary, always check with the building architect before installation for additional guidance on UBC compliance requirements. In no event shall Autostacker be liable for special, consequential or incidental damages for the misinterpretation of this information. Autostacker. reserves the right to make changes to this document without incurring any obligation to notify the public that changes were made.

What is the recommended concrete thickness for Autostacker installation?

We recommend at least 3.5-inch depth of concrete at 2,500 PSI comprehensive strength.

What is the ceiling height required for an Autostacker parking lift?

Autostacker is a versatile car storage lift that can fit snugly into an 8-ft garage if you’re using it to stack low-profile vehicles or non-vehicular storage on top, but you will need at least 12-feet if you intend to stack larger vehicles at Autostacker’s maximum height extension. The best way to decide what you can stack in your garage with Autostacker is to measure the height(s) of the vehicle(s) you want to lift and compare to your available garage space.

Autostacker’s lifting platform is 13.5-inches thick at its widest point (over which the front bumper of your car will rest if you drive forward onto the platform), so be sure to include this measurement when determining the overall vertical height requirement of your stacked vehicles.
